Harassment of students by other students is permitted to go on unchecked by principal, teachers or counselors. Ignoring bullying is the only tactic we see utilized in problem solving. Changing of schools appears to be the only avenue for help for abused students. Discipline is turned over to a uniformed police officer and not handled at all by teachers, as far as we can see. A tragedy is in the future for this school.
The school is great but some of the teachers dont listen. Today at lunch i accidentally spelled food on the floor and the lunch lady yelled at me and said that if i ever do that again im staying after school and clean the whole lunch room. She didnt even let me explain that there was only 2 tator tot on the plate so i put it back and it fell. It wasnt miss hass but a helper. Now i love mirs. Holloman the choir teacher. She is so nice and she lets you explain things if you get in trouble. That is if you have a good explanation. Next time i hope that lunch lady can be more understanding!
They have an awesome bunch of teachers and staff. This is one of the designated ELL middle school in USD 501, so there are staff to help those kids who need the extra support. The parents are very involved. They even have information on a radio station. 92. fm Something like that. There website is also very informational.
