I moved here from Texas and my 3 girls have all attended Alpena. This is a great school! Your children aren't just a face , the teachers know their names too! My husband, all his siblings and his father and ....all attended Alpena. They have great teachers who are interested in your childrens education!

This is a great school! Our children came from a private school straight to Alpena public and I have to say Alpena rates way higher overall than the private! The teachers and principal are always available when you need them, they take an active part in the childrens full education even if its not a child in there class. We have been fortunate to find this wonderful school, the only down side is the extracurricular activities leave a lot to be desired. We only have basketball which would be fine if our chidren were truly interested in it. Our idea to schooling is great schooling and teachers PLUS great extra activites. Other than that im very happy with everything about this school!

Teachers who are firm, tough, yet fair, are mislabeled as, "bullies." This is such a ridiculous and false accusation. I got a tough job but I love my job and I care about the students. People don't have a clue what I do or the challenges... More »

How I handled it varied depending on the circumstances. Teacher bullying is child abuse-proove it 1st! If teacher/pricipal/staff won't stop-go above their heads-Seek help from PTO's,administration, schoolboard, media, even CPS-Child Protective Services.

No one should put up with this. Take it as high as you need to go and follow up everything in writing. Even so far as going to your local paper. School A tolerates bullying and won't help children being victimized. They will listen after that!
