This is a really great school. They have an amazing selection of sports, extracurriculars, and clubs. One of the very few high schools in the country that has a crew team. It's easy to find great friends here, although the stereotype that Lower Merion kids are spoiled and snobby is unfortunately quite true. Of course not ALL the kids are like that, but no doubt if you go to this school you will encounter a good few. The teachers are, like my middle and elementary school (I've been in this district since kindergarten) very mixed; some are amazing, some are great, some are just fine, and others are simply awful But overall, this is a great school, and no matter who you are or where you come from, there's a place for you at LMHS.
It is so diverse. Not only does it have great sports teams, it has an excellent art and music department.
I am a student at LMHS and I am impressed with the flexible academic and extra-curricular life here. I find that any level of student will find a place at LM and will not be placed in any level class that is out of their comfort zone. There is also a large amount of extra-curricular activities that are suitable for anyone.
This is a fantastic district. We came from Brookline, Mass. six years ago and couldn't be happier--our kids, now in ninth and fifth grades, are having a much stronger academic experience...and they have loads of friends.
