This is the best school in this area...I have had children attend all of the schools and Sequoia is by far the best. They have the most caring teachers any parent could hope to have teach their child. They are dedicated to the children and want them to be the most well rounded students they can be. The principal at the school now is VERY concerned about child welfare and safety. He has put into place a drop off and pick up routine for the school to ensure the safety of the children...which has been working wonderfully. It makes for a much quicker and safer way to get our children to school and home. I agree with the 2 previous posts...the 1st post sounds like a person who just had a problem with the principal...they obviously haven't been to the school recently. There is a lot of parent involvement.
I rate this school a 4 out of 5. They make technology a high priority for teachers and students. The school has made AYP and API for the last 3 years in all but one subgroup. The achievement gap is lessening and beginning to dissappear at some grade levels. The teaching staff care about their students and doing the best for evey child.
I think this is a great school with new state of the art facilities and equipment. The teachers are experienced and well-qualified. The principal that was referred to in the previous comment is no longer at the school, but she was fantastic and very caring about the school. My KG child has learned to read and is getting lots of attention based upon her skill level rather than being held back with the others who are not up to her level yet.
Not impressed- rude principal. Teachers seem ok. Administration should be changed. Lady principal is very rude and does not seem to have an interest in child welfare at all. Children dart into parking areas, seemingly no control over kids. There seems to be no parent involvement. Not impressed.
