I was impressed with the programs that I attended with my grandson. Keep up the good work.

Northern Elementary is 'the school' to go to in Scott County if you want a small hometown feel to the education of your child. Mrs. Justus is my daughter's favorite teacher. I couldn't be more pleased with her. She always goes an extra mile to make sure that I feel welcome to call or drop by anytime. Mrs. Justus and the entire staff at Northern really makes parents feel at home.

When Anne Mason Elementary opened everyone in the area wanted their child to go to the new school. I chose to enroll my kids in Northern despite that fact and I could not be more happy with the teachers, principal and all the staff. They have been beyond belief in keeping myself and my husband involved even though we both work and are willing to work around our schedules to meet with us. I can't say enough about the staff at this school, except don't judge a book by its cover. Thank you Northern for making every child count!

The academic program in kindergarten is outstanding. My child loved school, the teachers, and learned so much. He is really prepared for first grade.

If you truly mean a shy kid who wants to be outgoing, then I would help them interact with one child at a time. If you are talking about an introverted child, refer to http://www.carlkingdom.com/10-myths-about-introverts

Find something you are good at or enjoy doing a lot, just one thing. You'll gain confidence and meet other kids that enjoy that activity too. Mine was singing in choir. I wasn't good at anything else but that built my confidence for other things... More »
