My grandchild attends this school and I am awed with her progress. She continues to impress my friends, when visiting with me. She read above the benchmark level for her grade, She discusses politics and is only seven years old. She is learning other languages from her exposure to ESL classmates. She respects my elderly friends and is helpful. She impressed a cashier on a recent shopping trip, so much so, that the cashier wanted to take my grandchild home and have her make a speech to her children. I appreciate the teachers @ Alberta, that have taught my grand. Wish there were more educators like them. I have heard that the Principal there is "genuinely" concerned about the students. Should I move to the area upon my retirement I plan to support this school as much as possible. I urge the parents of students to get behind this school, and the staff, supporting them in everyway. Go to the school, meet the teachers, listen to the teachers, let them know you want to be a help and that you do, indeed love and care for your children. (our children).

I think that Alberta Elementary is a very good school. It is has not been rightfully given its proper due. I think because that it is because of the hardwork and dedication of the principal, Mrs. Parker that Alberta Elementary continues to gain momentum in its quest for higher academic standards. Despite the lack of funding and the growing number of ESL students, Mrs. Parker's tenacity continues to guide the school in the right direction.

This school is beautiful... though that is on the outside. There are few teachers that actually care. The special education teacher is wonderful!

We test kids at the end of the year and beginning. Kids that don't keep up during the summer take a giant step backwards. If our kids do complain about homework, we ask them,"Do you want to work for a company, or own the company?"

No. Let the children have a break. Let their minds focus on being children. They'll have plenty of homework when they go back to school. I would not even consider enforceing summer homework for my children. They need stress free playtime.

Yes. Of course summer is for fun however they can take a brake from homework 2 weeks or so, not the whole summer. If you teach a child the importance of learing they will enjoy the homework even in the summer.
