My daughter went to DCE 1st - 5th grade. She loved every moment of it and DCE was a fantastic school, but things have changed for the worse in the past 2 years. Bullying is not only a problem with the students, but the staff as well. The staff is absolutely unapproachable and is very condescending towards the parents and students.

My child has attended DCE for a couple of years. I do see a problem with discipline in the school. Bullying and major desciplinary offenses are always given a slap on the wrist. Students are written up instead of suspension from major offenses that are in the hand book. If there is a problem with a teacher, I do agree that the principal sides with the teachers and nothing ever gets done and the school district does not help you. There are some good teachers, but when it comes down to going to a teacher about a problem with your child with other children nothing ever gets resolved. I have also noticed a lot of teachers are to busy talking to watch the children outside during recess. Children climb the hills by the parking lot and go behind woods that are not visable.

This is an excellent school I recommend this school to every child. We are a military family and the school helped my children not to struggle anymore. The teachers actually teach your child. 2 thumbs up.. best school we have ever been too.

I have two children at DCE (5th grade & K) - Over the past 5 years, I have been extremely pleased with the teachers and faculty, the parent involvement and the focus on the children. As with any school, there are a couple of teachers who do not take the extra time to challenge some children and get frustrasted when a gifted child is bored in their classroom. The positives far out-weigh the negatives though and you will not be disappointed if your child is assigned to DCE. The traffic at 3:15 pm is unbelieveable, but the faculty works hard to keep it flowing.
