It is a shame that some people would use this website to review a school and we are not able to hear the other side of the story. Vance is obviously a great school. It makes me sad that a person would write such untrue things about a great school. The teachers at Vance are very qualified and caring. This person earlier must have issues with Vance. Every parent I know thinks it's a great school.

My child started school today and was only there an hour if that before the principal calls me to tell me my child needed to be picked up immediately because the child would sit was walking around looking at everything on the walls and the teacher could not handle it. My child is 5 1/2 yrs old never been to day care or pre school but has the education of a 1 st grader. These people seem to forget that they are only small kids and that they are curious and when its the first day of school its hard for them to just sit quietly when they are so very excited. My child is not perfect it was a new exciting experience and when I went to the school to pick my child up they had the nerve to tell me I should my child to be tested for autism. I was appalled at what I was hearing. I don't plan on taking my child back to this school ever. The saddest part is my child spent the rest of the day and night crying because the school won't let my child to come and learn like my child wants to do. But I am glad I found out early what this school is about before they damaged my child slowly over the years. One day is better then 6 yrs of ignorant unqualified staff.

I am so proud to say that my daughter goes to Vance. We moved to the area before she started to Kindergarten so that she could attend Vance. The learning atmosphere is first rate. The teachers and principal are great! The school is constantly making improvements and is getting better all the time.

I love the environment of the school. My daughter just started kindergarten and she loves her new teacher. I noticed the gym needs alot of work, and I too am disappointed about the art/music classes, but everything else is great. The principal and teachers really want the best for the kids and they really listen to parents. I am so glad that I moved to this area because I know that my daughter is getting a great education.

No. I have heard of teachers setting up FB pages on areas of study so students can use technology as a learning tool. All posts are public and private messages are disabled. I won't even friend former students. I do it as a rule-no hurt feelings.

No! As an educator, I don't want to be held responsible for what students are doing outside of the classroom.

Absolutely not. Most schools offer the homework question site through the school system. They do not need to be "friends" with their students through social networking sites.
