Flint Central has an excellent learning atmosphere where students have the opportunity to engage in rigorous academics and a cultural education. There are many resources within and nearby the school.

I had 4 children graduate from Central. They are now adults who attend college in Michigan. Central is a good school for laying down a foundation for college. Teaching is not a easy job . I am appalled when I hear negative reporting on Central both sides of all issues should be address but there is no way I would be in a place where there is fear. I wonder what can you teach if you are scared ?The teachers need to ask themselves who are they there for? Who will it benefit if you don't want to teach the students. If you are not diverse in the culture you teach it is a problem no adult should be afraid to do his or her job. Seek assistance form all that is available to you. Send letters to home, make phone calls to parents job, yes the job.

I am a Flint Central graduate of 2004. I feel that Central has given me the tools to become the successful college student that I am today. Looking back, the diversity that Central students were exposed to was amazing, both in curriculum and people. The courses offered were outstanding, from the humanities classes to skilled trades classes at the Skill's Center, Central made it all available. As for the people, Central offered people from all phases of the socio-economial world. Blacks, whites, and hispanics... rich kids, poor kids, and middle class kids... Central had them all. I believe this diversity at Central made us better rounded individuals, and that this will help us throughout our various careers.

I attended Flint Central from 2001-2005. The opportunities available at this school are incredible. Students have at their fingertips incredible resources and options. The humanities program is truly outstanding. This curriculum expands the world of its students, opens their eyes and minds, and challenges them to find ways to integrate literature, the arts, history, and other social studies into their everyday lives. The fine arts magnet, particularly the theare program, is outstanding as well. Model United Nations is another program that encourages leadership and awareness of the world outside Flint, MI. Flint Central High School is not just a school. It is a place full of exceptional programs and opportunities for its community.
