Rising Sun High School

I attended this school from kindergarden until 10th grade. Yes, the school was fun at times but not about learning. The teachers are fun and care about the students having fun rather than teaching them anything. I changed schools my 11th grade year and was completely unprepared. I had no idea how to do any of the work in any of my classes and I was struggling terribly in math. Rising Sun High School needs to improve and think more about the childrens education rather than whose going to make the volleyball team or cheerleading squad.

This information is very old. I find some of the reviews here interesting. I have one child who graduated from this school corporation and one who soon will. As far as I know the marching band is still going strong and has been continuously in the 20 years I have lived in the school district. Also, only one of the administrators has come from the local community so I don't see how their hiring could have come through local connections. I personally like small schools as I don't think as many students 'fall through the cracks', but you have to put up with everyone knowing your business. Every school corporation has its pluses and minuses. There are some great, caring people in this one, so check it out yourself befor giving it an automatic pass.

I graduated in 2002. I do believe that the principal cared for my overall education. I had some really good teachers who pushed me to be great and made learning fun. Then there are some teachers who dont care if learn or not they just want to get a pay check for the part of the year they actually have to come to work. It is very sad. Also, I do agree that is all about your name and who you are related to. The middle school is amazing. There are a lot of classes that I had to take that other schools do not offer which gave me a better overall knowledge.

Rsing Sun High School is not a good school at all. I was a 2004 graduate and when I got to college there was two classes that I was prepaired for, which was english and physics. The physics professor retaired so there goes one of the good teachers. Other then those two classes the teachers do not prepare you for college at all. Also in the last couple of years the administrations and board has been doing some questionable actions. Overall the school is very bad and recently cut the best extracurricular activity they had which was the marching band.
