My child attended this schools' REACH program (pre-school). I cannot say enough good things about it. They did marvelous things for our little boy.
My older son attended Raleigh Court from Kindergarten to 5th grade and received an excellent education. All the teachers have been great with covering the required Va. SOLs and enriching the classroom with many extras including special projects, plays, and even a 5th grade Social Studies Fair. My younger son is still attending Raleigh Court and the teaching excellence continues. Parent involvement is superb.
I have 4 children, 2 that are still at RC Elementary. The new principal has made changes - some I agree with and some that I question but as for parent envolvement, you can be as involved as you want to be. I'm at the school at least 3 days a week, reading with children, coaching OM teams, being active in the PTA, school parties, meeting children for lunch . . . The new principal is willing to talk with any parent anytime, so you do have a voice. We have been involved with 5 different school systems, including home schooling & RC is a great environment. I have dealt with 11 of the 18 main teachers & have been pleased with them all & extremely pleased with most. The 3rd grade teaching team is the best I have ever seen.
I have 2 children that attend Raleigh Court and I have been very please with my experience. Yes, the principal has stepped up 'security' here because of parental concerns of the campus style setting. I am pleased that teachers and staff stop those on the premises that do not wear a RCPS staff badge because it shows their concern for our children's safetyand welfare! Raleigh Court stands superior in their academics. Every teacher works toward a common goal to educate each child to their full potential across the board. Great school and wonderful staff.
