Overall, I have been very pleased with the staff of Ball Elementary School. My son is currently in Kindergarten there and it is his first year in a public school, I believe that his teachers helped to make his transition from daycare to school as smooth as possible. I have found that at times my son gets bored and is not challenged enough by Louisiana's kindergarten curriculum, but this is no fault of the school or teachers. The teachers and I have actually met and discussed this problem and they have been more than helpful by coming up with extra work for him and various tasks to keep him busy. On that same subject, I would also like to commend the teachers and guidance staff as they have been very helpful and encouraging of us having him put in the gifted program. Ball is a great school with a great staff!

The teachers were wonderful at Ball elementary and the students all around were nicer and well behaved compared to other elementary schools in the area. They are very strict about the dress code which I hope they keep up this year. Some teachers are strict about the dress code and some do not enforce it. This makes it difficult to dress our children in the morning. The parent is trying to dress their child in the correct shirt and the child is arguing that 'Susie,' wheres the wrong shirt everyday and nobody gets on to her. It is unfair and is important to younger children to wear what's popular and the whole point of the uniforms is to prevent children who cannot afford the more expensive clothing. The teachers were down to earth, happy, and very helpful. The decision to move my children to Ball Elementary was the best move we've made.

Ball Elementary School is one of the better schools in Central Louisiana, although Central Louisiana schools are not that great. My son has attended this school for four years, and is a straight A student. He has cousins who are his same age, who are in school in another state and are far more advanced in math, and reading. I believe that he could be more challenged, and becomes bored in class frequently. The teachers 'water down' the lessons. As far as parental involvement, there is not much. I have attended the PTA meetings, and only four or five parents show up. It is very disappointing. I do feel that my son is in a safe school and the policeman assigned to the school is there helping the children every morning as the arrive at school. He makes his presence known, and the children love him.
