This school is average. The curriculum is okay, some of the teachers are quite good, and the students are generally fairly nice. though it isn't anything amazing at all. there are a few fights every couple of months and testing is such a big deal that you get frustrated easily. though i would recommend the school if you live in the area.

hey im a student a pcms and when i first moved here i thought was gonna be a horrible school but now i came to relize that this is the coolest school. the teachers help you 1 on 1 you also make friends very easy. my mom is planning on moving but i told her i did not wanna move cause i loved pcms im a cheerleader there and the athletic department is awesome to. the teachers and staff and students just make the most wonderful school thats why i love pickens county middle school. 1 its the best school in the world.

Pickens Middle School is a learning environment that is goal oriented. Each student is pushed to achieve their full learning potential, and rewarded when they do. The principal, Dr. LeMiux, encourages students to focus on reading above all other skills. He is a firm believer in the fact that students that are great readers will achieve more in life. An A.R. reading program that encourages students to reach individual reading goals institutes this principle. Students read from a number of pre-selected books and then take a short test about the information. The goal is to get each and every student to read one million words during the school year. Students that do so receive awards. This school also actively rewards students for good attendance, good grades, good behavior, and more. Teachers are well educated and interested in helping each and every student achieve their learning goals. The school offers an outstanding music program that has been recognized by the state as well as nationally. The music director Mrs. Land has been named among the top 50 directors in the country. To top it all off, the school is beautiful, with a practical layout and well maintained in every aspect. The lunch that is served each day is said to be the best of all county schools. As a parent and substitute teacher at this school, I highly recommend this school to other parents that wish their child to receive a top of the line education.
