We transferred our child from another school in the area and could not be more impressed with Skyview Elementary, the building, learning practices and its staff including the principal. I am not sure how many principals will greet students at the door after the summer break and know each one by name. We were welcomed by smiling faces and a great feeling. The teachers communicate and are truly there for the children, there is a genuine feeling of care and the want for each of them to succeed. Our child went from loving school in preschool to hating school in kindergarten (attended elsewhere) back to loving school. There is structure, real learning, guidance and real happiness throughout the building. This is school where when the teacher says I am here to teach your children to learn, it is my job to find a way that works, they mean it.
Loved ALL my sons teachers so far. Excellent staff (mostly). I do have to say that I agree with the parent who commented about the Principal, though......definitely has a chip on her shoulder.
Skyview Elementary has excellent teachers but with a different Principal this school could be so successful.
My son attends kindergarten. The staff at this school are so excellent. They really want children to succeed. It's a big school but they make you feel like your the only student there.
