Shell Point Elementary uniform policy that was implemented by the parents of the School Improvement Council in 2006-2007 school year has been a great success! The children look great and spirit is high. It is true that Shell Point has made many changes in the last few years but the quality of teaching and learning has done nothing but improve and the atmosphere has become brighter and brighter. Shell Points' Music Program (Mr. Williams)and Science program (Mrs. Merritt) have been a wonderful addition to the quality of teaching for the children at Shell Point and shows great vision that the administration at Shell Point has for the children. Shell Point is becoming a well balanced school academically, artistically and socially the children who are lucky enough to attend will be better because of the leadership of the administration, the dedication of the Teachers, and the passion of learning the staff possess.

There are a few problems with this school, the first of which involves leaving children out of certain events if they did not do other activities. The school has also implemented uniforms this year, at the direction of a new principle. The teachers however are fantastic, the best I have seen so far. If only their principle wouldn't hold them back.

The teachers are not given the freedom to teach in a manner that they feel is most beneficial to their students. The administration dictates the curriculum and programs and allows very little decision making by parents and teachers.
