This is the best school ever! It is not only a set of teachers, children, staff, and parents, but a Family. Everyone knows each other, the teachers know all the kids, not just the ones in their grades, it is a wonderful environment. It is all about working together for the kids. Helping them acheive their goals, and striving for the best!

I am seeing so many great reviews and I completely agree. I witnessed a parent of a child in my daughters class complaining about a teacher that thought she was blaming her son for his poor grades and that he was a 'GOOD' kid. I though odd this teacher has been awesome for my kid. I know other mothers that had no problems with the same teacher. I also saw a week latter at a function the same 'GOOD BOY' curse a little boy out intimidate him into a corner and punch him several times. It's sad cause this mother had allready admited her kid had problems in other schools. Come on really it's the teacher? Uh no. It's the kid. This is the school if you want to be a hands on parent. Go to the meetings, feild trips it is family oriented and will step up helping struggling students.
Summit is a disappointment. Your child will be behind if they go to this school. They will blame your child for poor grades. I approached the prinicpal and the teachers and was truely upset over the whole experience. I''ve observed classroom and big difference between a public school and a charter school. They hardly have homework. Esp. if they say your child is behind you think they would send more work home to help get them caught up but, they don't. The parents that have children in this school need to spend some time in the classroom. I was told that new teachers that are there are not held to the same standards as other teachers - so your child will suffer and my child did. Please for your child's education do not send them to this school.

As we leave Summit Academy, the best testimony I can give, regarding quality of education at Summit, is in the fact both of my kids (who attended Summit for 4 years) have been placed in honors classes a year above their grade level as they transfer back to our local schools. My older daughter entered Summit a year behind in math and is leaving a year a head. I loved having a K-8 option and I think Summit has done a great job of preparing my kids for high school. It is, simply, in my family's best interest to return to the local schools for high school.
