I feel the principal here is lacking in a lot of area's. He seem's not very enthused about his job. If you have an issue and call him, it doesn't even seem like he is listening. The vice principal is much more professional and can always be seen outside in the morning watching the kid's. He's at alot of the sport's events, etc. Seem's to be very fair with the student's. Other than that, the school is pretty good.

Shumate is a nice school i recommmend it to all parents that are looking for a school. The staff is put together and organized. And you can tell the students love it there. There is a perfect balance between fun and learning.

My child is a 6th grader at the school this year. I really feel overall the staff is superb. The principal has good control over the students and uses the right amount of balance between discipline, encouragement, and his demands of students are age appropriate. My child is doing the best she ever has in school and her self-esteem has really soared.

Teachers who are firm, tough, yet fair, are mislabeled as, "bullies." This is such a ridiculous and false accusation. I got a tough job but I love my job and I care about the students. People don't have a clue what I do or the challenges... More »

How I handled it varied depending on the circumstances. Teacher bullying is child abuse-proove it 1st! If teacher/pricipal/staff won't stop-go above their heads-Seek help from PTO's,administration, schoolboard, media, even CPS-Child Protective Services.

No one should put up with this. Take it as high as you need to go and follow up everything in writing. Even so far as going to your local paper. School A tolerates bullying and won't help children being victimized. They will listen after that!
