I'm really sorry to hear your daughter is having such an experience. I'm also very surprised. We never had such problems in 3rd grade. I would strongly suggest you discuss your concerns with the teacher and/or the principal, and be persistent. I've taken this approach in the past and it was very successful. Who knows, it may be just a simple case of miscommunication.

I feel your pain with all of the homework, but our class (3rd grade) does not get the option of turning it in late. Last night we had 4 1/2 hours of homework!! What happened to the 'rule' of 10 minutes per grade level? My child is in tears when she gets home, and fights me about going to school. She's always loved school until this year. What used to be excitement about school is now dread.

My daughter has been going to crete elementary for three weeks now and is in kindergarten and has already come home with 31 pages of homework within a two week period and where talking about a child who is in kindergarten. What is she doing in the classroom during the day to come home with that much homework. My child is going to end up hating school by the time she finishes this school year at crete elementary. Do not recommended at all.

This is an excellent school. This year the fine arts programs have been added back in to the curriculum. The test scores are good, teachers are very dedicated, there are cutting edge things happening and best practices are utilized by the staff in all classrooms. The taxes are not high for Will County, and with little industry, the school district does whatever is possible to conserve resources and [rovide the best program possible.
