An academically rigorous program and supportive staff. A small school with an awesome student:teacher ratio. The kids work and play hard. Spanish and Hebrew are the foreign languages offered. Chess Club and Kidstriders are standard extracurriculars. The after-school program is unstructured playtime. The art program is strong, the music program is rather weak. Many of the families are affluent, but there is a rich cultural diversity of faith traditions and ethnicities at this school - hard to find in Iowa. Although the school is secular, students must bring kosher (non-meat) meals for lunch and snacks because the school currently rents space at a synagogue. (We are not Jewish, but the kosher restriction has not been a big deal. We have viewed it as an opportunity to try something different.) A wonderful alternative to other privates in the area.

Small classes. Individualized attention. Work according to ability. Very high ITBS scores. State certified.
