We LOVE this school!!! You will not regret your decision to send your adolescent to The Northwest Academy. They will be challenged academically, creatively, and held to high standards of conduct and responsibility. Our son started in the Prep year (7th) and has now completed Exploratory (8th) The NW Academy requires student responsibility and parents are not expected, or encouraged, to micromanage your child s study habits or homework. What a relief! Mary Folberg is the head of the school and provides great leadership, as well as day to day involvement. The teachers are incredibly talented, dedicated, and engaged in the process of education and emotional development of the students. The school recognizes private education is a huge commitment for most families and they respect parents for making the sacrifices it may require. It is a commitment we have not regretted. NWA has a staff that is unmatched for dedication and the personal attention they give to each child with whom they work. My child is challenged to think for herself, stretch her boundaries and express her ideas creatively and academically. We are so grateful to have found this program.

Our eldest son graduated in 2007 and was accepted at Rhode Island School of Design. Based on his experience, we now have our other two kids enrolled (High School Senior & Sophomore next year.) Individual arts instruction is what drew us to the school, but the 'academics' - especially the writing programs are well beyond what my generation got in college. Many teachers at the NWA are former college professors. As a parent, I will be eternally grateful to the school.
