Because the teachers are very motivated and caring and could use the money to implement Mind-Body Skills (which I teach) into their curriculum or afterschool program.

ASMS is not a good school at all. The teachers can't control the kids. They only teach what is expected to be on the leap test. The principal is never available and she doesn't return phone calls. The staff at the school are bad examples for the kids. Teachers yell alot and it's alot of negativity. Everyone is out of control at this school. It's really sad because Abita Springs is a beautiful town. The Elementary school is the total opposite. It's awesome. Everyone seems nice and happy to teach our kids.

AMS is a great place for your child to be. Small class sizes, excellent parent-involvement, caring teachers, and challenging curriculum all attribute to preparing your child for junior high. Abita Springs is such a quaint and charming town that places great emphasis on backyard bbq's, town events such as garage sales and farmers markets, and high family values. These values are also found in the school located in the town center.

It wasn't until we moved did I notice what a awful school my children were in. Some of the teachers were good , but most did not know how to teach or control a class. The principal they had at that time was the worst I have ever seen. Thank goodness my children are not there any longer. Now that we are in another state and another school system my kids have done a 360. We now have quality teaching and parent involvement. The way it should be.
