YTP was the absolute worst experience of my life. I pity anyone that has to endure the shame of being a student there. Every aspect of this school is mediocre and ineffectual in every conceivable way. There is no justification for removing students from a mainstream environment against their will, and then forcing them to talk about their issues in a sorry excuse for a school. No matter what their mental state is, they should be placed in the care of true professionals. The facility used by YTP is run down, damaged, and covered with obscene graffiti. It's a waste of time, and the entire program should be abolished and outlawed. The environment for your child at YTP will be enherantly hostile due to the presence of a large number of mentally unstable students. Do not allow your child to ever be placed in the Youth Transition Program! -Adam B.

My son attended YTP in Eagan for 2 years in 8th and 9th grades, then mainstreamed to the public high school. YTP really helped him to keep up academically, to learn to cope with social issues he was dealing with having been physically on the small side for a while and the victim of bullies for several years and resultant depression. YTP staff was there for him and for us as a family, and we are so glad he had that alternative when he needed it. He became an Eagle Scout, graduated high school 2 years ago, is an E-4 in the Navy and assigned to a nuclear carrier. We are convinced that YTP helped him to move beyond the bullied, depressed child who didn't believe he had a future to the confident, almost 6 feet tall, well-trained sailor who is helping defend our country today. Thank you YTP and Julie.

This is the best school Ive been to. Kids there are like me. They all are dealing with mental health issues and we understand eachother. The staff works well with us students to help us.

This is a terrible school with inexperienced staff. It claims that it has a mental health focus, yet the program is oblivious to the mental health needs of students. This program should be shut down!
