As a parent of a 2nd grader at Waialae PCS (Public Charter School) I feel fortunate that my three younger children will also be going to this school. The class sizes are 15-18 and they have dedicated art, music, PE and Hawaiian studies teachers. They have one hour classes in these four subjects weekly. The school is a participant in the 'Aina In Schools which brings gardening, nutrition, healthy eating and enviornmentalism into the cafeteria, classroom and community. As a charter school, we manage our own budget, based on a 'per student' amount from the DOE. We are able to manage 2009-10 without cutting instructional days, though there are no guarantees for 2010-11.

Beautiful, clean, safe campus! Great leadership! Small classes (only 16 per class). Caring teachers. Inexpensive, fun after-school school program at the school. We love Wai'alae and are so glad we found it! They have tours and info nights if you want to learn more about it.

This is an excellent school with a true mission to serve children. It is in everything that the staff and leadership does. I am so impressed with the work that is done here.

Waialae elm is an excellent school. We have both of our children there and are very happy with the teachers and administration. The school appears to be using the latest teaching techniques and spends much energy helping to keep faculty up to date on cutting edge stategies to help our kids. Also, the sense of community is wonderful as it seems every familly is very involved in their child's education (as they should be). We couldn't be happier with Waialae Elm and think it is the best kept secret in education on Oahu. Aloha, A very thankful parent
