whitman has a fine school system, and does its share of fund raising projects to benefit the children.

My daughter is what you would call less than motivated, and I have found that there are systems set up with this school that help a parent get really involved. All of her teachers have been great, making themselves available constantly through emails, and this school (along with the Hanson Middle school in the same district) is one of the few Massachusetts schools to utilize homework hero, an amazing tool that lets parents see in real time the assignments their children are responsible for completing. I haven't had a lot of dealings with the Principal, but I know that when I met him at orientation it was a great sense of pride to him that he lives here in Whitman and is a part of our community, and I know that he volunteers in youth sports programs as well as living and working here!
As many students as myself would never think of having school and awesome in the same sentence. But in this school, the teacher give what there suppose too, if not more. And the principal may be tuff and right down scary, but simpley this is how he has to be unless he wants to have footprints on his shirts from being stepped on.Overal this school is average and very proud of full with proud and learning kids.
