We have been in the school district for 4 years. Overall, we have been happy. My son has some disabilities and have had some issues trying to get him tested. Really had to push the teachers to work with him- Not that unusual in a small school district though.

Much safer and disciplined than an inner city school. A quiet safe community. Teachers and staff make every day a good day for my children. My children are always learning new things. Healthy lunch program. GREAT map testing scores! Kudos to Smithville School District!

A great school for all students. Everyone is so involved with the students and they really care. Overall the staff surpasses expectations. They really care. Especially my favorite teachers who double as track coaches: Mrs. O'dell, Mr. Pieper, Mrs. Andersen, and Mrs. Bargman.

Teachers who are firm, tough, yet fair, are mislabeled as, "bullies." This is such a ridiculous and false accusation. I got a tough job but I love my job and I care about the students. People don't have a clue what I do or the challenges... More »

How I handled it varied depending on the circumstances. Teacher bullying is child abuse-proove it 1st! If teacher/pricipal/staff won't stop-go above their heads-Seek help from PTO's,administration, schoolboard, media, even CPS-Child Protective Services.

No one should put up with this. Take it as high as you need to go and follow up everything in writing. Even so far as going to your local paper. School A tolerates bullying and won't help children being victimized. They will listen after that!
