Mount Carmel Elementary School

My son had Mrs. June Young for his First Grade Teacher. She is a wonderful teacher, he was very shy and withdrawn before joining her class. Over the course of the school year she brought out his confidence and he excelled both personally and academically. If only all schools had a Mrs. Young; she's a strong yet compassionate teacher.

I was very impressed with the K level program. The instruction my child received was amazing. Sadly the teacher my child has in the first grade is not keeping up the pace set and I am not impressed. Be attentive to which instructors your child receives.

The reading coach at Mt. Carmel excels above and beyond to make sure the teachers are prepared for reading instructions and trained to helped students. My son has always benchmarked, he does not enjoy reading as much as I would like for him to. However, the teachers have always given encouragement and kept me informed with his progress. The teachers at Mt. Carmel are caring and give students the most balanced academic and disciplined environment that allow the students to learn. I love the teachers and parent involvement is not lacking at this school. It is outstanding.

My child was moved there to a special ed class where he could receive the training he needed and deserved. From a passing by the skin of his teeth grade at his other school to A/B honor roll there. And the school staff is great. His self esteem has gone off the charts since he has been there.
