As said before, there is an inner core of parents that will probably lay in front of a bus for this school because they are so brainwashed, the fact that there were no good reviews for years and when one bad one popped up an army of 5 stars came out shows that, this last review pretty much says this school is teaching people how to not need a school, so whats the point of a school, anyway, if you think that the headmaster bribing parents for money to get better grades is okay because the school needs money than you probably have some ethical issues you need to figure out and you are probably perfect for this school.

I have read some negative reviews by parents and would like to give my point of view. First, no school is perfect. I agree with this statement 100%. But I guarantee the is not a better charter or public school around the area. The biggest problem with this school is the few parents who think their child can do no wrong and should be catered to. This school tries to teach kids to solve their own problems and to not just throw their hands up and turn to Mommy and Daddy when things don't go their way. It's called building character and teaching self reliance. I feel some parents could take a lesson in these areas. It's always easier to blame someone else instead of blaming yourself or you child for shortcomings. This school does have to worry about money. It's still growing. Everything costs money. The school can't afford a football team or field as of right now. They want more money so that your children can have a greater experience while attending the school. And yes they do worry about grades, isn't that the point? This school prepares it's student for college and I'm grateful my children attend this school.

After reading a couple of bad reviews about the school I would like to shed some light on EWA. My three childern have been attending EWA since kindergarten. They are now in High and Middle school. I would never consider any other school for thier education. Sure the school is not perfect but compared to the issues at a public school. I have had dealings with the headmaster multiple times and never been blown off when the proper arrangements through his assistant were made. Also taking a statement taken out of context at a FUND-raiser event to raise money for supplies to help further a childs education is ridiculous. Basically great school and staff!!! Always remember it is a SCHOOL OF CHOICE. It is your choice to keep them at EWA or check into the Wake County Public School System.

East Wake Academy is top notch! My family loves our school, its teachers and administrators. I have a children in 2nd, 5th and 9th grades. From elementary to high school we could not be more happy. Anyone who has been to any other public schools like we have can appreciate the difference in them and East Wake Academy. I read the recent comments by one other parent that were made on Dec 9th and Jan 8th and 11th. To describe the headmaster as anything but completely professional and delightful would be amiss. I say East Wake Academy should keep up the good work!!! Kelly B.

I go in every Monday and help with the Kindergarten reading group or play word games. Then I eat lunch with my child. I also attend and bring things to all school parties. Since I volunteer only on Mondays I do not burn out. : )

Our school gives us mandatory hours (15) that we must give to the school in one way or the other. It is very easy if you don't mind stuffing envelopes or being a lunch mom. I think they even give working moms the opportunities to work on paperwork.... More »
