Earned Oregon's top rating, "Outstanding" on the 2009-10 Oregon Department of Education State School Report Card. Only 37% of Oregon schools earned the same rating statewide.

My child enjoys going to school everyday. The community spirit is great! I feel that good values are taught to my child. She likes her teachers. Teacher commitment to after school programs is fabulous.

My children have been attending Lapine elementary for years now and it is wonderful. My oldest son started as a kindegartener and is currently in 4th grade, my youngest son started as a kindegartener and is currently in 2nd grade. Lapine elementary staff and PTA have worked very hard with both of my children. Having one child that is ADHD and above grade level in learning ability and the other that is not quite meeting grade level. The teachers espescially have strived to make each child's learning experience a memorable one. They work very hard to ensure that no child is ever left behind.

My child attended 1st grade at LaPine Elementary and, I cannot express how much I miss all of them there. The support, communication, and care that was shown to my son and us as a family, was amazing. We unfortunatly were transferred to Knoxville Tn, and I would sell my soul to have my child back at LaPine Elementary. The school is set up like no other I have ever seen, and the teachers and staff are of the highest quality. Not so,here and my child is suffering from our move. I never thought in a small rual town like LaPine, would I find such gem, and all who enroll their children there, should count themselves as lucky. Sincerely Jan and John Davis

No. I have heard of teachers setting up FB pages on areas of study so students can use technology as a learning tool. All posts are public and private messages are disabled. I won't even friend former students. I do it as a rule-no hurt feelings.

No! As an educator, I don't want to be held responsible for what students are doing outside of the classroom.

Absolutely not. Most schools offer the homework question site through the school system. They do not need to be "friends" with their students through social networking sites.
