This school is great for Academic education with a good Christian atmosphere. The students and teachers are very welcoming and want you to fit in. The school is very closely knit and very much like a family. Friends are easily made and teachers are very helpful. Athletics is ran by an excellent director. Colonial Hills is a great school to put your child in at any grade.
This school is very cliqueish. If your child does not start out at Colonial Hills it is very hard for them to acclimate. There is excessive homework(some nights it would be 6 hours). What's the point of excessive homework when the child cannot even have a normal life? During the time my child attended, I observed the kids' behavior to be just as bad if not worse than the public school kids. She was picked on, called names, and not included in any groups. I didn't find the parents to be any friendlier when I attended activities. As they say, 'People are people' no matter the environment. My child felt like a failure when she attended. She is an honor student. Mrs. Lyles was wonderful. Now that she is back in public school, she is much happier and thriving.
I can not say enough about Colonial Hills. It is an absolutely great school. My son currently attend there and he is making straight A's. Fortunantely, my son has never struggled academically, but in the event he did, the school offers help classes for those students who may need extra help. The staff is great and it feels like a family. My son has learned a lot spiritually and academically. I recommend this school to any parent looking for a good christian environment for their children.
My children went here at the beginning of their educations. Love the school. Very friendly environment. The staff was amazing! they work as a team(family) environment. The children are well behaved. The teachers teach on a higher level and give a lot of homework but it is because they have faith in our kids abilities....They were right! I wish I could have kept them there but just couldn't afford it due to my husband and i losing our jobs at the same time.
