The school is full of very caring teachers who love what they do. They urge the children to be good citizens with their Kudos for Kids program. There is great parent involvement with ongoing fund raising efforts. They also have a wonderful program called 'Kurtz Email Angels' where parents may sign up to receive an email whenever a need arises for any of the students' families. The need could be for anything from food & toiletries to hats & gloves. An email is generated and products are donated. The program is completely anonomous. Those less fortunate are helped, without any embarassment and those who donated get that warm, fuzzy feeling by helping those who need. It is also the location of Huron Valley School district's Year-Round School program. This wonderful program is not commonly available in other school districts. Their MEAP scores are above average too.
We LOVE Kurtz Elementary for it's great staff and Year Round option! Wonderful parents and great kids!
