It is a great school, very involved with a student! I am proud that my child can say she goes to West High School.
i am a student of this school and this is one of the best schools i have attened so far i am a traveler and i have been to 7 diffrent school and this is the best
Dr. Moorehouse is excellent. He has everything under control and is open to all students. Mrs. Terry, the drama/forensics teacher, is also great. She accepts all students and gives equal advantages.
There is a strong academic curriculum for advanced students. Middle and lower ability groups do no fare as well. AP English is especially strong. Too much emphasis is placed on the football program - which is very good. The principal, Dr. Moorhouse, is inconsistent in much of what he does. He appears to be a good 'idea' man, but has little substance to back up those ideas. I'd rate him about a 5 out of 10. The arts get little or no respect, except for the forensics program. This vocal music program is excellent, but it is not recognized by the principal as anything worthwhile. The choir could be used as an ambassador for the school, but it is relegated to a level of nothingness. That's sad. Overall, I'd give the school an 8 out of 10.
