I know Woodbridge is a good school district but have run into some serious problems as far as a gifted child is concerned. My son is 4 and on a kindergarten level. He was referred to go into Kindergarten by his preschool teacher who works for Woodbridge school district and when I went to enroll him, I was told that they could not accept him. The problem is that Woodbridge has no program exceptions for the gifted and talented. If I were to school him somewhere else on a higher grade level then put him into Woodbridge later, they will put him a year behind merely because of his age. I find this disturbing and worry that this hasn't been enough of an issue for Woodbridge to consider changing their policies on this.

Woodbridge School District in my opinion is a good distict. The teachers are great and they really care about the childrens education. My daughter is in kindergarden and can read books and count by 2,5,10's. And can count to 100. My sister's son is also in kindergarden and attends a private school and can't do all that! I give Woodbridge School district an A+!

First of all, I use school choice so that my girls can go to this school. Second, when the fourth grade had its honor roll assembly, it had a special section where all the kids who received a 4 or a 5 on their dstp test were honored. They had to divide the fourth grade into 3 sections to fit them all on stage. I know there had to be close to 90% who did above average on their state tests. This school is amazing. They know the kids, all of them. They care about the kids, all of them. They work hard to nip small problems in the bud, so they don't become big problems. They are big on making sure the kids are rewarded for all the little things, which helps keep the kids trying their best.
