I have found this High School to be lacking in every aspect. The majority of the Educators are respectful, but not the best in their fields. Diversity among the staff is minimal and unyielding. The teachers are only concerned in preparing their students in taking the TAKS, obtaining a job in the service industry and completing the school year. During the the last twelve years this high school has the lowest percentage of their students go on to higher education and/or take the SAT/ACT examinations ( 23% ) in the area. There is an underlining racial divide existing in the entire district with the increasing Latino and Black populations; however, the teachers do not reflect the student body. Minorities are dealt harsely than Angelos over minor infractions of school codes. Overcrowding is serious and another High school, Junior High and two Intermediate are needed and the district has resources. Lack of forecasting

I currently have two kids attending Del Valle high school, One is a sophmore and the other is a freshmen, both are active in school sports, football, baseball for my son and volleyball, softball for my daughter. Both are A&B honor roll students and love being at Del Valle. I had a older son who graduated from Del Valle in 2007. This is a school with 2079 students for 2008-2009 year. I will say Del Valle has improved a whole lot within the last 4 years. I have meet some teachers and not all are bad....there are teachers that nake a difference and there are some that job work for whats its worth. DV is making progess in the right direction.

I am a student at this school. The only thing that I do agree with is that there are teachers that treat students poorly, but most of my teachers respect me and try to help me as best they can. We need more students to participate in Extra Curricular activities. Our administration is very focused on keeping us safe and helping us pass the TAKS, so focused in fact, that they seem to let all other things slip. More organization is needed as well. We should be spending more money on teachers.
