This is my child's second year attending Hornsby she is currently a 1st grader. I don't have any major complaints but I agree with the first parent that more math based curriculms would benefit the students all the way around. I do like their emphasis on reading and a few of the first grade teachers seem to have a good handle on their students disclipline wise which I definetly like. All around good school but I agree the gifted and talented programs need to be stepped up a notch.

My son has grown both socially and academically at HDE. The new principal is very visible and involved. I think the brighter students should have more challenged activities rather than be limited by the average student. I think a better, more clear Math curriculum would help with TAKS tests. I have seen two teachers (not my son's) who could be more discreet when correcting in front of others. We have been pleasantly surprised by our son's teachers and their caring nature.
