As a parent I can say this is an okay school and that I must agree with a previous post. I am so disappointed that the school does not promote higher academic achievement. And there is alot of work to be done to prepare students for a college education other than the local community college. The teachers from conversing with my daughter are not encouraging. I am having to pay private tutoring fees to prepare my student for an acceptable ACT score for a presidental scholarship. There's alot of work ahead for the system and it starts with the staff !

I give horn lake high 4-stars because it is definitely a thousand times better than most of the surrounding schools (for example: memphis city and shelby county schools) However, I think they could work harder on preparing the students a little more for college, especially in science. Overall, Horn Lake High is a good school with many extracurricular activities and class choices. Also, the administration here works hard at providing a safe environment for students and teachers.

By doing it in the funnest way possible,we have to make it exciting for them. Maybe reward them after they are done AND DID THERE BEST. Parents must be totally involved.

You shouldn't, have a study hall if they need help. When you learn you need a teacher, students can study on their own time.
