I spend a lot of time at the school and have dealt with teachers at ALL grade levels including the office staff. They all have smiles on their faces and behind closed doors are also happy and excited to talk about what is going on in their classrooms. I see the teachers in their 'personal' space at school where any grumblings could occur. My child is very happy and has really accelerated in her learning. The Principal is open to new ideas and willing to help or particpate in any activity the parents ask him for help with. Having parents on campus and seeing the difference it makes to be involved helps set this school apart from others. We are staying in the area until our kids can finish MCNair! They are renovating it and that is only going to advance the learning possibilities! AAAA+++

McNair is an excellent elementary school in Denton and I am so happy with how my son is doing there. My son is new this year, having attended elementary school in another district. He struggled with his reading abilities at his previous school and as a result, his self-esteem was very, very low. At times he was actually scared to go to school because he knew he couldn't read as well as the other students in his class. We moved him to McNair this year and he has blossomed into a great reader (reading just above grade level) and has developed a passion for learning. His teacher understands that students develop at different rates and has truly helped transform him. I am so grateful each and every day for her presence in his life. The staff is also very friendly and supportive as well.
