I love Madison Highschool. The school and the kids are great. I just wish before school the teachers could get out a list of what highschool students need ahead of time. I dont know what to get my son and school starts in 4 days.

As a Realtor and past County School Board president I am confident you will find Madison Local Schools above average through out. My two children graduated from this school and from my perspective there is a high level of parental involvement, both scholastic and sports related. They offer options for slower and advanced students as well as handicaped. The best way to get a feel is to tour the school and talk to the administrators.

I believe Madison Township is very fortunate to have such a wonderful school. Our acheivement scores are some of the highest in the county, while our per pupil spending is one of the lowest. Our special education department is one of the best anywhere. We have a caring and supportive community that really gets involved in the children's activities. It shows in the involvement of the students as well. You will find a large number of the athletes that participate in drama and music programs as well. The kids here really support each other.

We test kids at the end of the year and beginning. Kids that don't keep up during the summer take a giant step backwards. If our kids do complain about homework, we ask them,"Do you want to work for a company, or own the company?"

No. Let the children have a break. Let their minds focus on being children. They'll have plenty of homework when they go back to school. I would not even consider enforceing summer homework for my children. They need stress free playtime.

Yes. Of course summer is for fun however they can take a brake from homework 2 weeks or so, not the whole summer. If you teach a child the importance of learing they will enjoy the homework even in the summer.
