DCISD is an outstanding district as a whole. But, I do think that in high school, favoritism does get extremely out of hand. It also seems that what church you attend influences the favoritism, which is disturbing.

As a former student and recent graduate of dcisd I would have to say Denver City school system is amazing untill around freshman year. Students devotion is somewhat lacking, and favritism is shown way to much. I believe I was not pre pared to come to college even though I took all AP classes. I also believe the staff is some what lacking and do not hold students to a very high standard, because they are scared students would fail. Though their are some great teachers there as a whole it is poor.

I have had experiences with 3 other schools, and I can honestly say that Denver City is an amazing school. No, there isn't a large amount to do, but what they do have there..they are very dedicated. The band is outstanding and football and volleyball teams are great! The teachers help you so much. They go out of their way to make sure you know what your doing. They make you feel so important! They definitely know what they are talking about also. I strongly believe this is an excellent school district

DCHS is just an average school, nothing great. I think it's getting positive reviews here because the people haven't had any experience with other schools. The basics are OK, but there are limited extracurricular activities and virtually no liberal arts education, which is important!

You get what your tax dollars pay for! Excellent school for the money in my opinion.

Check to see if students with disabilities are a priority because otherwise the state doesn't pay for that child to go to School if they don't have a disability your child has to be put on a waiting list for pre-k! if their not

1.Go on a tour of a school tour 2. Talk to the director (and the teacher your child will have) about what the students day like. 3. Watch school in session 4. Look out for red flags: neglected children at play, lazy, non engaging teachers
