This is my 4 year at Flossmoor Hill and I have two children attending there. So far I'm very happy with the school. The teachers as well as the administrators are very supportive and strives to partner with the parents. I love that my children are always excited to go to school. I'm a working parent and I try to be involved in the activities at the school. Flossmoor Hill really encourages parents involvement.

I am a school administrator, and my daughter and son both attended FH throughout their formative years in school. My grandchildren now attend the school. There has not been one day, or a time, the teachers and administrators at FH ignored reading or writing instruction, or the the need to teach to the whole child. The entire staff at FH sincerely cares about the well-being of all the children. My children have meet and exceeded standards and are now in Honor's classes. I have never been disrespected as a parent. I have always been supported, and I am not a stay at home mom. FH administrators and staff make a concentrated effort to form a partnership with parents and the community. I am sorry to here a few of you have had a bad experience. I deem it one of the best schools and school districts in the state of Illinois. Thank you FH teachers, administrators, staff, and parents for all you do! Keep up the GREAT work!

We are new residents of Homewood and were told by our RE agent, as well as checking school maps to determine the school our son would attend, believing it would be Churchill, only to find out it was FH. This school is horrible in comparison to the school that my son attended last year. The teachers, principal and administrators only care about one thing and that is test scores! They teach to the tests, and in my opinion do a poor job of the fundamentals of reading, writing and arithmetic. My son has less than half the amount of schoolwork as he's had in the past, he never has any writing assignments, barely does grammar, language arts, etc... I totally agree with the other comments about the high taxes being paid to a school district that does a poor job of educating our children.

My child has been attending for 2 years, and I have consistently been disappointed by the office staff. The amazing thing to me is they changed office staff this year and they are still rude. It is apparent to me that if you are not a stay at home parent who can hang out at the school and 'volunteer' then you will not receive the extra warm smile. I remember before I enrolled my child 2 parents warned me against placing my child in that school and I wished I had listened. However, I will say the Kindergarten teachers are excellent! There are parents who have children in 3rd and 4th grades still talking about Ms. Waller in particular...the absolute best. I think it's so unfair that while I pay all these Flossomoor taxes I can not choose to enroll my child in another school within the district.

Anything on the weekend is too much. Kids need "family and church" time too! 1 hour a night past the age 10 is fine, 30 minutes or less before.
