I've had children going to Summerside for the last 9 years. I've been so pleased with the staff from the prinipal to the janitors. Summerside has the most caring, lovable staff you'll ever find. Always very helpful and willing to go that extra mile to ensure all children are taken care of. They have a very active PTO organization that works hard to ensure the school, children and staff have what they need to be successful.

Overall Summerside is a warm caring elementary dedicated to the children of its community. Summerside prides itself on using research based programs, practices, and progress monitoring techniques that enable children to learn at a pace consistent with their abilities. Because of its quality principal, staff and parent volunteers, every child is valued and has the opportunity to work one on one or in small groups every day. A school wide behavior system makes it clear that appropriate behavior and discipline be expected and consistent for all as well. There are some extracurricular activities, but the children could be offered more throughout the year.

Summerside has open and friendly teachers and staff that the kids and parents love. They have always been there for me and my first grader. Choose Summererside!

No. I have heard of teachers setting up FB pages on areas of study so students can use technology as a learning tool. All posts are public and private messages are disabled. I won't even friend former students. I do it as a rule-no hurt feelings.

No! As an educator, I don't want to be held responsible for what students are doing outside of the classroom.

Absolutely not. Most schools offer the homework question site through the school system. They do not need to be "friends" with their students through social networking sites.
