We have been her for 2 years now, we have multiple students so I can post an honest thorough opinion. I will say that I think that a Student needs excellent teachers, a good curriculum and strong support from their parents to obtain a strong education. While I think that the Florida School system (FCAT based curriculum) is flawed vs. the State that we moved from, it is a decent curriculum in general, I just don't agree with a lot of ways they teach just to pass the FCAT, the effort could be better utilized. PROS: Teachers are Excellent (We have had 3 I rate as A+, 2 = Bs), Parents are pretty involved and each room has a parent that comes in regularly, the Tech-Up program aims to get computers into the school, there is a gifted program, speech programs, good student body, and the facility is great! CONS: I have never met the Principal and see very little communication from her , there are no set Parent/Teacher Conferences (teachers are very open to meeting with you), there are few to no after school activities (like movie nights, carnivals, parent/student dances, etc.), also due to the budgetary constraints of the school/County the grounds are a bit neglected.

My daughter was in her class the kids were playing around a kid joking around hit her, so my daughter lightly slapped him back ofcourse the teacher did not see the boy hit my daughter but saw my daughter hit the boy My daughter was taken to the office where she sat for over 2 hours before calling me. The principal left me a voice message saying that your daughter did this ect...She said she is done She has all her stuff and you need to come pick her up. And if you dont pay the $5 she owes she will not be able to go to the 8th grade, mind you he repeated the $5 on the message 3 times. She was so worried about the $5 that he did not care about the student; Hence there was a small scratch on a book that they charged her for. The Principal took my daughter to clear out her locker and said where is the book u have to pay for? Wow really? She also said i could have u pay more but..... Comes to show u that the $5 they charged me for nothing was more important than my childs education there is 6 days off school left but they suspended her anyway. I called the principal after having to leave work and he was rude wouldnt listen to me and just kept taking loud and very unprofessional

My son was involved in an incident at school on Friday afternoon but this isnt the issue. This morning I received a call from the principal saying We called your son's classroom but the teacher said he wasnt in class" This was at 8:49am. I asked her to give me a call either way. 20 minutes pass by no phone call. While waiting I decided to drive around the neighborhood just in case I notice anything out of the norm. Im panicking because I dont know whats going on. I then drive to school because I still hadnt heard back. When I arrive he is in the office. I asked him "Where you in class?" He said yes. I go into the office where the principal and asst principal are and asked "Why didnt you at least call me to let me know he was here". Her response in a very nonchalant tone was. I hadnt got around to it. I was livid. I told her you do not call a parent stating their child is missing and not let them know it was a mistake. I believe school officials need to work together to ensure success with students education. This is the first time I ever met the principal but we are definitely off to a bad start. I feel she is unprofessional and uncompacionate.

My opinion about the school and staff of this school is poor. I believe that to have a good chance of being in good terms with the principal of the school you should be a brownnoser to her otherwise your children will pay the consecuences. The staff is careless with the children but they will pretend infront of the parents that they do care for them. Overall to me the principal of the school is another Fidel Castro but in the united States of America the place where our children could have an education it all depends on our dictator if they could stay or not in "her" republic. If you would like your children in this school then WELCOME TO CUBA...

If parents are willing to drive the extra distance, why wouldn't they be allowed to choose? Every school is not a match for every child and parents know their children best ... More »

Definitely! I believe that families should be allowed to attend any school they want, because there are some who went to a good school and parents want what's best for their kids. Even education.
