My child currently attends WHS. Before deploying to Iraq, I went to the school to talk with the principal and the counselor. I also notice that there is no discipline when it comes to dress code or behavior. They do not ask to see any ID when you report to the office. Only because my son lives in that district is he attending WHS. I just belive that alot could be done to better help the students. I am not blaming it all on the school because some parents are to blame, too.

I had the same problem as the person posting May 2004 message in that same year when I went to enroll my child at Woodlawn. I graduated from Woodlawn, moved away, returned and Woodlawn was and still is my childs home school. I am a scary looking man, as my kids and their friends tell. I went into the office & told them I need to enroll my child in school & they told me where to go. I did not sign or was I asked who I was. My child is african american & so am I & my wife. Now that I have seen this I may transfer my child. Safety First!

Hello, My name is Kayla S. and I am a sophomore at Woodlawn High School. I love this school. There is no better school than Woodlawn. We are always succeding our goals here at Woodlawn. The people are understanding and caring. The teachers always wants you to get the job done. We have many extra curricular activities here. They are Band,JROTC, basketball, football, softball, track, student council,Delta Pi Pi , Hospitality (which is the magnet part of our school) , and many, many more things. Woodlawn is a great school. We have tutorting programs also. Students come from other schools and also magnet schools just to be tutored at our school by our teachers. Woodlawn has taught me many things and academics are just one of them. The students at this school has the motivation to strive and do their best in everything. We love our school!! ~*Class of 2007*~

Woodlawn is a good school so you could have kept that lie to yourself. Woodlawn is very strict when it comes to the welfare of the children and visitors. People love giving predominately black schools a bad name. Don't know why there are evil people in the world. Give woodlawn a chance and trust me you child will be well taken care of.
