Union County Magnet High School is for the excellent student that is eager to learn and be prepared to go to college. You do not just decide you want to go there - you have to have high level grades and perform well on entry test to hopefully be selected to attend. The student to teacher relationship and coursework load is similar to the college environment. If you are fortunate to be accepted and ready to work and learn - you will graduate completely ready to be accepted to just about any college and go on to do well in college as well. The school is the same or better than any college prep academy except that it is free since it is part of the public school system for the county of Union. The best possible education and it's free - you cannot beat that!

An exceptional school for those that are able to get in. Teachers work hard to make sure that the students understand the curriculum. Mostly all the kids are kind, well-rounded students. One of the best in the country!

Once you walk into Magnet, you automatically know it's not your normal high school. The people here are SMART. The majority of the students' SAT scores were above 1950. It's not common to have 15 students (out of about 65) in your grade to be accepted into BU or Duke or even Princeton or Yale. You get to meet a lot of people too, within Magnet and the rest of the UCVTS campus. Everyone's pretty nice, and the teachers are good at what they do. If your town doesn't challenge you enough, and you can pass the selective admission, Magnet's a really good choice, especially if you want to get into a good college.

Competitive public high school for an education equivalent to that one would receive in an elite private high school, high level of coursework, small classrooms, caring teachers, great kids!

Absolutely, because kids are an integral part of their own success. If they are forced into uncomfortable situations they shut down. If they explore their interestes..they blossom. Love not conformity.
