From an academic standpoint, the teaching is great. There is a tremendous amount of homework, which takes away from family and fun time for the children. The food that is served in the cafeteria is horendous. Nothing but fried foods and carbs. You simply cannot feed a child Chicken Nuggets, tater tots, corn and Teddy Grahams AND allow them to have their choice of white, chocolate, or strawberry milk, and then expect them to be able to focus after such a carb/sugar loaded meal. One month last year, only three times were vegetables served at lunch, and twice it was corn. Corn is pure sugar. Something should be done about the nutrition that is being provided.

I have 2 grandchildren left in Siebert Elementary. All the teachers are good and care about the kids. The music teacher, Mrs. McGowen is wonderful and puts on wonderful programs throughout the year. There is baseball, basketball and football for sports. Our librarian, Mrs. Woods keeps the library open for a few days a week for over a month for kids to come and check out books. Parent involvement in this school is over whelming. Parents are always around and involved in many things. We are pretty proud of our school. It is now a Blue Ribbon School, a well earned reward.

This is a fantastic elementary school. Their teachers are great, and their administrators are the best!
