Hi. My daughter has attended Carterville elementary since she was in first grade. She is now 9, and in 4th grade. She loves this tiny school. Even though it is small, they have many extra activities for all grades. Every teacher, and staff member is great. We never have to worry about our children there. The whole staff is very caring, and good to each and every student. Everyone is treated equally. The curriculum is wonderful, as is the methods of teaching it. The principal strives to make sure that every student is doing there personal best, and portrays characteristics that will continue with them throughout their lives. It is a safe environment free from violence, bullying, and teasing. Every Carterville student, seems to get along almost as their own family at school, and their friendships I'm sure will carry then through out their lifetimes as well.

Carterville Elementary school is a wonderful school. The kindergarten classes have about 15 - 20 students, so they get the attention that they need. If students learn faster than others, they don't hold them back, they let them advance at their own pace, without leaving the others behind. Reading is a big focus for the school. They include art, music, health, gym and computer time in the schedule every week. The school also expects parents to be involved at home and at the school. They have a lot of activities and parents are always welcome to attend and help if they would like to. It is a small school, but it is part of a larger school district that takes pride in what they do.

If parents are willing to drive the extra distance, why wouldn't they be allowed to choose? Every school is not a match for every child and parents know their children best ... More »

Definitely! I believe that families should be allowed to attend any school they want, because there are some who went to a good school and parents want what's best for their kids. Even education.

Families should be able to attend any school they wish.
