Each student gets a balanced education at St. Mary School including academics, social skills, sports and extracurricular activities that enhance the mind, body and spirit. Caring teachers, staff and volunteers help to ensure the emotional well being, physical safety and overall success of the of the entire student body.

My children started St. Mary School in Algoma at age 3 with their 3-4 year old preschool program. I have 5 children...4 attending school at this time. They offer all of the basic education along with Spanish, Computer, Phy Ed. and much more. It is like a family at St. Mary School! The children are of all faiths and backgrounds. The teachers do an excellent job preparing children for the outside world. My principal rating is based on the new principal we will have for next year...she is commited and a great leader.

I go in every Monday and help with the Kindergarten reading group or play word games. Then I eat lunch with my child. I also attend and bring things to all school parties. Since I volunteer only on Mondays I do not burn out. : )

Our school gives us mandatory hours (15) that we must give to the school in one way or the other. It is very easy if you don't mind stuffing envelopes or being a lunch mom. I think they even give working moms the opportunities to work on paperwork.... More »
