I couldn't say enough great things about this school. Classes are small and structured with enough playtime and physical activity to keep it fun. The teachers engage your child at his or her level. Preschoolers are taught Zoophonics which kids pick up quickly and easily. I don't know of any other schools in the area that use it. There is no pressure to move beyond grade level, but if your child takes on more by herself, kids are encouraged to read early. It is a safe and positive environment, the after-school care is first-rate and they offer summer camps. My son has severe food allergies but their sytem lets me feel secure. The cost is so reasonable compared to other schools in the area. My daughter was challenged, learned something new, and practiced her skills daily at Mountain Peak. It has been a great experience for our family.

I have 2 children at MPPS and my 3rd starts next year. We have been attending MPPS for 4 years. It is the best school in Longmont, by far. MPPS offers excellent teachers and a fantastic, well rounded education. My 4 year old is starting to read already in the pre-K program. My 6 year old 1st grader is doing 2nd grade math and reads chapter books. On top of all this, the teachers ensure my children get plenty of physical activity each day. In addition to the great education, the school provides a fun and friendly environment for my children, so they enjoy going to school each day. Furthermore, MPPS offers a great before and after school care program. I love knowing that if I cannot be there, they are having fun, not sitting in the principals office after school. I highly recommend MPPS.

My son has a late birthday, but was ready for first grade. The public school would only enroll him in kindergarten where he was counting bears and learning to write the alphabet. We moved him to Mountain Peak's first grade class, and within a month he was reading and spelling at 2nd grade level, doing column addition/subtraction, and running science experiments. More importantly though, he is now engaged in learning, interested in what happens at school, and talking daily about what he learns. Mountain Peak has been a huge improvement.

I decided to enroll my two children at MPPS in 2009 and boy am I glad I did. I researched all private schools in county (best money for value). Initially, I had a hard time making the decision to go private because my mom was a St. Vrain teacher for 25 years. However, I couldn't accept a large teacher/student ratio and campus environment (@500 kids). MPPS has @80 on campus. In all the studies I found, a low teacher/student ratio has the biggest positive impacts on students. We also like Art and PE curriculum rolled into each day. Other benefits are; computer lab, music, bilingual tots, creative Halloween, Holiday & New Years party's for the kids, Sled Day and Field trips. The main reason the kids get the fun they do is that they work HARD all week. Bottom line, the local ownership and great staff make it possible.
