If I could give this school zero stars, I would. We were fine with this school until our daughter was inappropriately touched by a male student in her class. After the administration learned of it by way of other students, they interviewed our daughter twice over two days before ever contacting us. They also did not report the incident to the police, and our attempts at communicating with superintendents at the National Heritage Academy corporate offices went unanswered. As far as I could tell, this school is conveniently unaware of Title IX requirements and the Michigan law that these types of situations are to be immediately reported to the parents and to the police. A very disappointing reality check for our family. Back to public schools we go.
CWCA has been a positive experience for my family. The assemblies encourage confidence by allowing the students to present moral focus topics in front of the whole school starting from kindergarden. The principle/assistant principle are visible and out side EVERY morning and afternoon to great and promote saftey. The dress code is very respectable and removes inappropriate distractions. I LOVE THIS SCHOOL>
I think Chandler Woods is by far the Best School around! I have had my Sixth Grade daughter there since Kindergarten I am hoping for a High School......I was reading some of the negative comments about Chandler Woods and I have to disagree with them cause this school goes above and beyond for the kids and the Staff are a blessing and they really care! In this School there is no kid left behind! Keep up the Great Work Chandler Woods!
The staff is a collection of highly qualified and motivated individuals who really care about not only education, but also the individual welfare of each student. If you are luck enough to get your child into this free school. You will be delighted with the charismatic and truly talented teachers such as Kristin Downs, Jerry Anderson, Jennifer Carlson and Dennis Kaboos.
