The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.
The school district needs to focus on hiring good teachers. The administration is so busy honoring all the favors they owe instead of hiring the better teacher. Age discrimination is a huge problem in the high school. It really make you wonder what is going on up there.
The one problem this school has is the student body. Most of us aren't driven to succeed. But, if they are, they're given excellent advice, oppurtunities, and even guidance. The guidance counselor at the high school, Ms. Downing, is supremely helpful to not only college-bound students, but to vocational students as well. The high has definitely had some improvements since Mr. Lammay, the principal, has become in charge. Wonderful, self-building programs have become a main part of the school, helping students to grow in ways different from an academic standpoint. Pennies for Patients, Rachel's Challenge, School's for Schools, and other programs help the student to realize the impact they can have. An excellent school, it ranks high for me.
Bentworth High School does everything possible to provide a sufficent learning environment. The student body, over 80 % of them do not care if they fail and they also do not care about passing tests. The teachers, all try to reach out to their students and help them in anyway. The school challenges those who needs the challenge. If you want to come to a school, Bentworth High school is a great choice.
I recently graduated from Bentworth High School and I am confident that I will do well in college. Many teachers try their hardest to teach and provide a challenging curriculum but it is because of lack of participation and laziness on the student s behalf, and lack of parent assistance that make our district look insufficient. I do not believe the administration should be involved in so many activities and should only worry about their own responsibilities. The 'administration' is the only weak-link in the district. The teachers and guidance counselor do a praiseworthy job. If any standards are not met, it is not because the teachers didn't prepare the students; it is because the students don't care. Ultimately, the parents upbringing of their children sets the path of their offspring. If the parents don't care, which so many don't, they are setting their children up for failure.
