This school is the best of both worlds. It is a larger school, so it has all the advantages of its size, but because it is only K-2 and because of the amazing and incredible teachers, principal and parents, it has all the feel of a small school. It gets the advantages of both with the disadvantages of neither. The children are taught to be independent and the amount of extracurricular and enrichment activities for this age children in a public school is amazing. It is definitely a special place.
I truly love Lighthouse Elementary School primarily because it is a very unique public school going from kindergarten to 2nd grade only. There is such a warm, nurturing, family atmosphere here, despite it's large size. Class sizes are relatively small. Every child is made to feel loved and valued. Great leadership with Principal Gross, the 'pick of the litter', devoted teachers, who ALL go the extra mile for their kids, and the best PTO ever!! My 2 children have thrived here. It is very deserving of the accolades it receives!!
Lighthouse Elementary school is a fantastic school with great teachers, staff and parent involvement. When we moved to FL three years ago I did lots of research before finding 'my' school and no doubt found the BEST around!!! A+++
